Future and Current Fire Station
In the Mayor's Institute Plan the old fire station holds a prominent place next to city hall. It also has a unique position between civic activities on the town green and riverfront, and the retail services of McInnis Avenue.
The fire station's prominent location is paired with a unique history. the building was first built in 1903 as Moss Point's city hall, later used as a jail, and in the early 1970s it was converted for its current function as a fire station.
New Fire Station
Moss Point's Fire Department is vacating its historic downtown building on McInnis Avenue and moving into a new facility near the intersection of Main Street and Bellview Street. The new station's location—only blocks away from the old one—allows for quick response to emergencies in all parts of the city.
