Making the Waterfront Even Better

The riverfront is already well-loved and well-used for activities like fishing, boating, and hosting local festivals. Improving access to docking facilities will allow boaters who are passing through to stop in and enjoy all that Moss Point has to offer. New facilities, such as restrooms and concessions, will make the riverfront park even more enjoyable.

Improvements to the Riverfront

Upgrades to the boardwalk give better space for fishing and strolls along the river. New plantings, lawns, benches and lighting give large festivals and intimate gatherings a place to be proud of.

A new pier stretches into the river, providing a handsome structure that compliments the natural beauty of the river, while letting people walk out over the river.

An expanded small craft marina allows anyone to visit Moss Point's downtown by boat, enhancing it as a riverfront downtown.

Connects to the Region

The improved riverfront park and marina will create a high-quality stop along the proposed Jackson County blueway routes. Local groups, like the Land Trust for the Mississippi Coastal Plain, continue to promote the development of these routes, which was included in the 2005 Governor's Renewal Forum Moss Point report.
