The City of Moss Point has adopted a revised plan for improvements to Downtown. The Mayors’ Institute on City Design hosted an urban design work session in March, 2009, led by the Tulane Regional Urban Design Center. The workshop developed a revised plan, which the Board of Aldermen adopted on March 17th, 2009.
“It has been over three years since our initial plans for Downtown were developed,” said Moss Point Mayor Xavier Bishop. “Many things have changed since then and we wanted to assess whether those plans still reflected our vision for Downtown and the waterfront. In the end, we decided to revise our three-year-old plans to achieve greater public access to the waterfront, create a more walkable downtown and still promote downtown economic development.”
