Hope Force nears completion on the house.

The house is located on high ground, with the platform only 30” above grade.

The piles are driven and await the rest of the framing.

A House For Iesha

Community Partners : Hope Force International
Building Partners: Hope Force International

Iesha is a familiar face to many volunteers that have made their way through Biloxi. She works at the Salvation Army volunteer camp, contributing tirelessly to the recovery effort.  Hope Force International spearheaded the effort to build Iesha and her two young children a house.

The narrow lot, only 27 feet deep, limited the depth of the floor plan. The greatest design challenge was creating a long facade with enough relief to prevent it from looking like a railcar.  A higher roof in the living area, along with a recessed, covered entryway and a living room that juts closer to the street, break up the facade.  A porch at the living end leads to a small side yard.
