A House For Mae Bell

Community Partners : East Biloxi Coordination Center
Building Partners: Beaverton Four Square/Compassion First, Project Teamwork, Whidbey Island Construction

Mae Bell's house is one of the largest homes that the Studio has worked on thus far in East Biloxi. With four bedrooms and two baths (one bedroom and one bathroom being accessible) it measures 1660 square feet.

Located just inside the flood zone, the home is elevated approximately six feet above grade and sits among a number of pecan trees that spatially enclose the front porch. Operable clerestory windows bring light and ventilation into the pantry, which is located in the heart of the house at the rear end of the central corridor.
