A House For Tracy

Community Partners : Hope Community Development Agency

Tracy and his mother Marjorie wanted a two-bedroom house for Tracy. Tracy originally requested an A-frame, so he could have a second bedroom in a loft space upstairs. Due to volunteer construction restraints, the roof could not be pitched so steeply, so the Design Studio worked out an elevated two-story house with front and side porches.

The living room is double-height, with an extra office space tucked up in the loft. High clerestory windows bring light down throughout the living areas. Christian Aid Ministries built the house in the spring of 2010 and it was dedicated in June.
